HTC One E9 plus – The beast is yet to be unleashed!

Introduction:

HTC’s president announced the release of a new model hotter than the Flagship model, HTC One M9 in the month of March and release they did not one but two variants, One E9 and HTC One E9 plus. It does seem a bit odd to release two phones in the same month and the confusion here is that One E9 is not even listed in the company’s official website. The company’s website features a full on insight into the One E9+ model. This has got people thinking if the specifications are actually for E9 but we are sure HTC won’t make a mistake as grave as this. Whatever it is, we just love the specs and can’t wait for its launch. The One E9+ has already got the attention it needs and the only thing left to do is impress the buyers with its specs and live up to its expectations. Let’s go over some of the specs that are worth mentioning.

Design:

Design-wise, it looks spectacular with an all new body design. The first thing anyone would notice in the One E9+ is that, the extra bezel space which is very unappealingly place in other HTC phones has been taken care of. The bezel space is reduced by an inch in the top and bottom parts of the phone while a larger screen reduces the bezel space on the sides to the minimum or less. The accommodations of speakers in the top and bottom bezel spaces also make it look more attractive than plain bezels. The placement of rear camera at the top high centre of the back is also a new design that the HTC is seen using. The front camera rests right next to the top speaker in a good fashion.

The metal body frame and polished mirror give it a premium and exquisite feel. Even though it has a 5.5 inch screen, it does not feel uncomfortable in your hands.

It is available in three very attractive classic HTC colors, Meteor Gray, Classic Rose Gold and Gold Sepia.

Display Specifications:

The One E9+ features a 5.5 inch capacitive touch screen with a layer of Corning Gorilla glass to protect the display. The phone has a striking resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels which approximately gives a pixel density of 534 ppi. The colors are vibrant and the display is up to the mark. The outdoor performance of other one series smart phones has been remarkable so far and on par with Samsung which is considered to have the best outdoor display, we expect nothing less from this model.

Dual-SIM:

The phone has dual-SIM slots with LTE support which means it can support 4G across the country. This is becoming an essential feature with the 4G towers coming up in many cities.

Expandable storage:

The One E9+ offers the users up to 128 GB of expandable storage. This is greater than what any of the high-end phones offer, currently. The storage will not be a problem unless the memory card and the second SIM have to share the same slot. This is one problem that exits in phones ranging from Micromax to Samsung due to the new metal body phones that are being introduced.

Processor:

The phone houses a powerful Mediatek MT6795 Octa-core processor with each processor running at the speed of 2 GHz. With the Smartphone manufacturers chasing down and creating their own unique chipsets this not-so-famous processor will have to work its way into the market and earn a place for itself by delivering high performance than the existing processors. What makes this phone more powerful is that it runs on a 64-bit processor. With such an incredible processor, one is not bound not have any problems with the speed.

Battery Backup Life:

The phone has a non-removable, 2800 mAh Li-Po battery. The trend is slowly shifting to the use of Li-Po batteries instead of Li-ion batteries. The Li-Po batteries are more powerful and do not drain out within a couple of years of usage. But since the cost of manufacturing is high it can be seen only in the high-end and flagship models.

Memory:

The phone has an internal memory of 32 GB out of which the company website states that only 8.45GB is available for user content. Wow! That’s a shame. Apparently, the software takes up a lot of space hence the storage is limited. There is a 3GB RAM which you will have no issues with.

Camera Features:

The One E9+ has a 20 megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and BSI sensor. 4K video recording is another great feature of this phone. The 13 megapixel front camera also has the capacity to record 4K quality videos which is amazing. The front camera also has a 4MP Ultra Pixel sensor will make all selfies taken and videos shot, more realistic and beautiful. HTC has really worked on giving its users the best in this aspect.

Operating System:

HTC’s Sense 7 User interface has a lot of new capabilities and is extremely user-friendly. It operates on Android v5.0 Lollipop. This user interface with Android is the best that any phone can ever offer. The software also has many camera oriented tricks up the sleeve. It is sure not to disappoint you for the extra space that it took.

Audio:

The phone features BoomSound speakers with Dolby audio that will give you an amazing sound experience. It also has a 5.1 surround sound effect which improves the quality by a great extent.

Verdict:

The HTC One E9+ is undoubtedly another high-end phone with superb qualities. It has some new features that will give the other phones a run for their money but all these will mean nothing if the phone fails to deliver performance. The phone’s 20MP primary camera and 13MP secondary camera with both offering 4K video recording are the second highest USPs of the phone with the first being the 64-bit Octa-core processor. Other features like design, display and audio also make it to the list of top five features of the phone.

The downside are the less internal storage and battery.
