The Display Specifications of Huawei HonorX

The screen is huge at 7 inches FHD LTPS screen and the screen resolution is 1920*1200 pixels with a density of 323 PPI and a depth of 16M colours. This means that the display will be exceptional and vivid. The frame of the Huawei Honor X1 is available in two colours a Snow White and a Diamond Black. At 7 inches you can still stretch your fingers and hold the tablet on one hand although you need the other hand to use it.

The screen occupies pretty much the entire frontal area, with the USB charging slot on the bottom ridge, the power button, the volume rockers, the sim slot and the micro SD slot on the right ridge of the phone. The speaker is on the top along with the front camera and the audio jack is on the top ridge of the phone.

The display screen is bright and provides a 180 degree angled view. It counters the glare of indoor lights but the reading comfort under the sunlight has not been tested.

The back panel is encased in aluminium with plastic encasing it at the borders. Overall feel is light, compact unlike other tablets in the market today. The thickness of the phone is 7.1mm which makes it easy to carry around.

The Huawei Honor X1 is a Smartphone combined with the features of a tablet and scores on that front alone. This means that you can use it for voice calling and do not have to carry two things a Smartphone and a tablet all around.

The Hardware Features of Huawei HonorX

The Huawei Honor X1 is powered by 1.6 GHz Quad Core and the Processor make is HiSilicon Balong V9R1 with a 2GB RAM. It has a Mali 450 graphics processor. The internal storage is 16GB and the memory is expandable by 32 GB. Considering the fact that this is used as both a Smartphone and a Tablet the internal memory space should have been a 32 GB and expandable to at least a 64GB. But for a price under 20K we are not complaining.

The camera   features are strong   and sports a 5 Megapixel front camera and the rear is a mighty 13 Megapixel camera. The specifications like that which is found in iPad or a Samsung.  The camera has Sony BSI sensor and supports HDR and Panoramic shots. The pictures offer sharpness and clarity.

The non removable battery is a Li-Polymer gigantic 5000mAh. What could this mean for the consumer? It means a standby time of a minimum 1000 hours, 40 -45 hours of talk time, and 10 hours of web browsing, 125 hours of audio music and 11 hours of video play. However it is not clear of the time frame that is required for charging the battery of such magnitude. But in reality if you are using  the applications , making calls , watching videos and downloading you can be assured it will last 2 days.

The battery has a reverse charging option which means the Honor X1 can be used as a power house to charge other devices.

With such strong specifications, the Huawei Honor X1 is Hybrid tablet which is difficult to ignore and hard to put down.

Software Used in Huawei HonorX  Tablet

The Huawei  Honor X1 depends on the Android 4.2  Jelly Bean instead of the Kit Kat and is layered with the Emotion UI .Huawei’s  philosophy of “Design with Empathy” is employed to makes the Honor X1 user friendly. The screens can be customised, slid across and the icons can be moved around by shaking the phone or arrange it. The display screen can be arranged in the form of tiles on similar lines like Nokia with the frequently used apps.

But the outdated Jelly Bean makes the navigation sluggish sometimes and could be a dampener. Huawei has toed the same line as that of the other Chinese handset manufacturers who use Jelly Bean. There has been no explanation as to why it has not opted for Kit Kat which has been around for some time now.

One found that the flicking between the screens is slow as well as well as the notification bar. Also when the home button is pressed in the middle of an application it takes a few seconds for the home screen to pop up.

But the games and videos of course are played without buffering and can support heavy graphics and definitions. The Honor X1 offers 2G, 3G and also 4G connectivity. Other features like geo tagging, sensors like Accelometer, Gyro, Proximity and Compass are offered .The hybrid supports Email, messaging, and JAVA.

The HonorX1 offers other applications which  are quite similar to other Samrtphones  and Tablets like the Active noise cancellation, MP3/WAV/WMA/ MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player Flac player, Organizer, – Document viewer, Photo viewer/editor, Voice memo/dial, Predictive text input.

Conclusion Of Huawei Honor X1 Review

The Huawei Honor X1 can be rated as a 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 5 as it is a powerful device offering the same specifications, features as some of the high end brands which are priced higher; however the downside of the hybrid device is its operating system. On the brighter side if a consumer is looking to buy an expensive Smartphone or a tablet then the Huawei Honor X1 is an ideal choice.

The price is the biggest game changer or the decider and it will have a lot many of them opting for the Honor X1 in the Indian markets as the Indian consumer is always looking for a device which is a great value add at a friendly budget.
