The Lenovo A6000 Plus
was launched in April 2015 and was made available by flash sales arranged by the company. The phone was launched seeing the considerable success of Lenovo’s
previous smartphones such as A6000 and A7000. The phone offers a slight upgrade over its predecessor, as it covers all its weakness.
The phone looks exactly same like the Lenovo A6000 and you can’t tell the difference between them if they are kept side by side. The phone has the same perfect ergonomic design and the plastic based back cover is again provided with a matte finish. Even the fine details are exactly same as the front side display of the phone has three soft buttons located at the base while Dolby digital plus speakers are located at the same place on the rear side of the back panel. The phone comes with two SIM card slots and an option to expand it using the MicroSD card slot provided in the phone. The phone is handy as its dimensions are 5.55 x 2.76 x 0.32 inches while weighs only 128 grams, thus making possible to use it for long stretches of time. The phone comes in Black, Red and White color.
The Lenovo A6000 Plus has an exact same display as A6000 as it is provided with 5 inches IPS capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors that provide a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The phone is multi-touch enabled and has approximately 294 pixels per inch, thus producing sharp and bright colors. The thing to observe is that the display is not protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and you have to protect it by using screen guards. We did not find much difficulty while using the phone in bright sunlight as the screen was not reflecting much. The only problem we saw with the display was that it attracted a lot of smudge and finger marks.
The Lenovo A6000 Plus features are upgraded in this segment, as the internal memory is increased from 8GB to 16GB while the RAM is increased from 1 GB to 2GB. The internal memory can be expanded up to 32GB using the MicroSD card slot provided in the phone.ProcessorThe Lenovo A6000 Plus has again retained its predecessors Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 Chipset with 1.2 GHz Quad-core Cortex-A53 processor. Again, the processor works perfectly as there are no problems with the working of the phone such as lag or delayed touch feedback. Heavy games, when played on the phone, ran smoothly while the overheating was also in control even when the games were played continuously. The 2 GB RAM provided in the phone makes it possible for users to work on various apps simultaneously without having to overcome the slightest of lag. The phone performed slightly well than its predecessor as the AnTuTu and Quadrant scores were 21392 and 11860, respectively.Camera FeaturesThe Lenovo A6000 Plus has the same camera of its predecessor as it is provided with an 8 MP primary camera while the secondary camera is of 2 MP. The primary camera has features like Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and clicks images with enough details.
Battery Backup Life
The Lenovo A6000 Plus is provided with 2300 mAh Li-PO battery which is same as of its predecessor. The battery works great if you consider the budgeted price you get to have it.
The phone runs on the same Android 4.4 KitKat platform, which again is heavily customized by Lenovo. The Vibe UI skin present in the phone is developed independently by Lenovo’s software team. The UI doesn’t have an app drawer and so could take the time to get accustomed by the users who have been using Android’s UI previously. All the widgets and icons are present in the home screen itself. The phone comes pre-installed with two themes that can be customized while there is no option to download other themes. The phone comes pre-installed with a lot of third party apps and you can uninstall them if you want to free space. Lenovo has focused on giving a very smooth appearance to the UI and you can feel it using the phone.
Lenovo A6000 Plus is a welcome improvement over its predecessor, as the phone balances the weaknesses of its predecessor and yet again is made available at a very competitive price. The phone is 4G enabled, and even if you don’t get the 4G network in your city this phone will work perfectly for you. The phone has an amazing display and a sound processor, which gives you a seamless experience. Being an entry level smartphone the value offered by this set is really something to seek for. The phone has received a feature score of 74 on Pricejugaad which gives it an above average outlook while it has obtained 60 in the review score which gives it a favorable user opinion. If you are looking for a power-packed smartphone with 4G connectivity that too in the budget segment, then this phone is to go for.
